dragonfly lamp

Designed by Clara Driscoll and produced sometime between 1900 and 1910 in the factory of Louis Comfort Tiffany. Clara Driscoll was Tiffany's top designer, and was one of the highest-paid women in the world, making $10,000 a year in 1904.

As I looked at the lamp, I felt like concentrating on the way the lead canes were used to draw with the glass, and I liked the contrast between the highly patterned organic shapes of the lamp and the straight lines of the surrounding exhibit cases and stands.
