Figurine (ceramic) from the Second Intermediate Period in Egyptian history. This period fell between the Middle Kingdom and the New Kingdom, and - according to the wall text - was characterized by "a series of ephemeral kings." I loved the shape of this figurine's head, and the way her shadow appeared to have more human proportions.
"Ephemeral Kings" would be a good name for a band.

Sheila, thanks. The paper I use is a printmaking paper called Lenox 100 - reasonably priced, and a weight that stands up to paint well. More info on the materials I use can be found on my other blog:
