I'm sending a link to my coworker who used to live near Punxsutawney and who celebrates this day by wearing her groundhog hat and making groundhog-shaped cookies. How cool that the museum HAS a groundhog. A search of a site about marmots tells me that while all groundhogs are marmots, not all marmots are groundhogs.
