After going through the new show of Rembrandt etchings and prints, I felt like drawing a landscape. Wandered a few galleries over and sat down in front of J. F. Kensett's painting of the Connecticut shoreline "Longneck Point from Contentment Island." Challenging to reinterpret that scene in pen and ink - the painting is subtle.

On my way out, overheard a student who had been assigned to draw in the galleries. He needed a pencil so I gave him an extra yellow one I had in my case.
