seated man


I like the way the pencil I got at the gift shop is watersoluble. I can make a quick sketch to get a sense of the values of light and dark and then use my waterbrush later to finish the sketch.

This man sat on a bench outside the Hall of African Wildlife, his head slightly bowed. The gallery is darker there, so that the dioramas really glow, and there are occasional spotlights to light the way. One of them was catching his bald spot. I don't think he was sleeping, but he was very still for a few moments...
